As If!

CUE dress, Windsor Smith sandals, heart lock collar from etsy, tattoo bracelet from eBay, cherub ring from Spank!
Nails: American Apparel "Palm Springs"

You know how people often say when commenting on an outfit, that it's successful or looks good because it aims to look like something, whether a period style or a character, without looking "costumey". I totally get that! and it can be true for sure, but if you think about it, replicating famous movie character outfits is no problem to me if the look is wearable, right? I bought this dress because, if you hadn't already guessed by the post title, it reminded me of my idol (tbh) and style inspiration Cher Horowitz (in particular a vague mix between her mint green dress and the red dress). I would happily wear most of her outfits as casual style (perhaps aside from the yellow plaid ensemble just because it's so well known). Anyway, I can't say this outfit is an attempt at a costumey look at all, but I really love this dress so much. I had it taken up a fair bit at the hem and now it's perfect! I'm so excited I finally own more dresses (because lbr I really don't wear them often).

I've been playing Dishonored a ton the past month and I'm completely obsessed! The scenery is insanely beautiful, such as Lady Boyle's party, which is one of my favourite missions (and the official game stills do not do it justice at all). The way the female characters dress is so badass, like the maid uniform and Emily's incredible white ensemble, and it's cool how all the women seem to wear pants and never skirts or dresses.

In less than two weeks I'm heading overseas with my family, we leave on Christmas day *O* Off to LA, England and Sweden! I'm super excited to be visiting all these places again, especially as I haven't been in London since we lived there when I was 2 til 4 years old, which was also the last time I visited my family in Sweden. So now is the time for me to ask you guys... the most important question of course - shopping location recs for London and Sweden?! Or any places you think I'd like, shopping or not. I'd love to hear them all! So please share your expertise ♥

Rib Bones

Topshop sweater, thrifted shorts from Kinji Harajuku, backpack from somewhere on Takeshita Dori in Harajuku, Katie (the store) keyring, Tutuanna socks, Nike Air Force 1 sneakers, Kreepsville 666 bone hair clips, Spank! cherub ring, tattoo choker+bracelet and pentagram necklace from eBay.

After being on a bit of a 90s movie watching rampage over the past month or so I was inspired to buy a couple of new chokers to add to my collection. And after visiting Japan I still have even more mint green to add to my ever-expanding mint collection... I feel like I should do one look featuring every item of minty fresh clothing I own? I just need to dye my hair pale green, or I guess I'll just borrow my friend's mint green wig. Done!

I've found myself watching a ton of My Strange Addition on youtube these holidays. I will be forever amazed at how long a person can stay alive drinking multiple bottles of nail polish day, chugging gasoline like lemonade, or eating various plastics more than regular food?! The most memorable Strange Addiction for me will always be one of the most famous ones; the woman who is eating her husband. Any of you guys watch this show and have any particular addictions that creeped you out the most?

One last thing, Purity Ring have released the surreal and beautiful music video for Fineshrine, one of my most favourite songs off the Shrines album. Personally I found the video suited the song very well, which for me is quite a rare thing indeed.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend

Shrines

Cat print t-shirt by Nadia (Nadia Flores En El Corazon), vintage Levi's denim jacket from SPINN'S Harajuku, shorts by Yaponskii from Monomania, gun print tights by MAM AVANTGARDE, Nike Air Force 1 sneakers, Tutuanna socks, spiked collar by Monomania, skeleton hand hair clip, eyeball bow hair clip and eyeball ring by Kreepsville 666, glitter button, 'I Love You' pin and cherub ring by Spank!, vintage ACID pin, Allira Tee 'Laughter Applause' pins.

That ^ has got to be my record for longest outfit description. But it's my first outfit post since I got back! Because I'm finally done with school for now Lol.

What do you think of my tattoo? It's one of my temporary ones from Nadia, check out the full set below. They're so much fun! It's also a great way of experimenting with the whereabouts of a potential real tattoo.

Last Thursday I went to Lady Gaga's Born This Way Ball! It was SO much fun, and we even got into the Monster Pit because we arrived 4 hours early to line up aw yeah. Having Gaga performing 360° around you is pretty freaking sick. It was also really spacious in the Monster Pit, so we could get super close and were free to move around the space. While this concert was brilliant, it was still not quite as spectacular and high-tech as the Monster Ball concert I attended back in 2010! Did any of you guys go to both concerts and feel the same way?

I was checking my previous blog posts and I realised I totally forgot to mention I also went to Nicki Minaj's concert for the Roman Reloaded tour a few days before I left for Japan! It was even better than I had hoped, the costumes were awesome and the atmosphere was great.

On Sunday I downloaded the new Purity Ring album 'Shrines' (!!!) which I was SO excited about. They're one of those rare groups where every single track they release is amazing. At the moment I'm really loving the feel of "Grandloves" (below). I really like how PR put two words from the lyrics together to form their own made-up words for the track titles, or just create totally new words all together. And I also love how they are always talking about little things, like little ribs and little legs, and body parts like cutting sternums and drilling holes into eyelids. For you PR listeners, which are your favourites from the album?
