4 Back to School Looks (Part II)

As requested, another round of Back to School Looks! Flat-lay is a pretty gruelling but fun process, and I tried to keep each look as the type of thing that would be wearable for university (and possibly some uniform-free high schools?). Wearable, comfortable and (hopefully) school-appropriate. Things that are easy to wear for long periods of sitting down and catching public transport. I hope you enjoy and perhaps find some inspiration :-)

Look 1: PREPPY - Supre crop, thrifted pleated mini skirt, Merona cardigan, vintage coach backpack, Windsor Smith platform loafers, beret from eBay, K-Mart knee-high opaque tights, Adidas Originals watch.

This look is definitely inspired by Clueless vibes and that pared-back 90s minimal style, focusing on a simple colour palette. I'd even wear little black bike shorts under this mini skirt for extra freedom of movement. And no - I don't expect you to fit all your school supplies in a bag that tiny lol. I just could not effectively fit the intended bag in the frame for this look, but it would have been my Candy Sugar japanese school bag.

Look 2: SPORTY - Jeremy Scott x Adidas Originals oversized t-shirt, American Apparel denim backpack (customised with studs and Katie keyring), Nike sneakers, YMCMB official snapback, Adidas Originals watch, bike shorts from eBay, socks from somewhere in Shibuya.

This is actually my go-to travel, school, movies, running-erands, quick-and-easy look. The t-shirt is insanely soft and has a really flattering fit despite how big it is! This is such a suitable look for class, and the denim AA backpack is super sturdy and great for carrying a laptop and books.

Look 3: CUTE - Topshop polka-dot dress, Supre crop, pastel backpack from SPINNS, Nike AF1 sneakers, Adidas Originals watch, crescent moon choker from Etsy.

A classmate of mine once told me I looked like an ice-skater when I wore this. The skirt of the minidress definitely has that vibe. Super-short and/or thin-strapped dresses are much easier to wear if you layer it over some bike shorts and a fitted t-shirt. And I can guarantee the comfort of this look as I wore it on the hike up to Diamond Head Summit in Honolulu.

Look 4: CASUAL - Custom crop sweatshirt, American Apparel denim shorts, Nike Sneakers, American Apparel thigh-high socks, Opening Ceremony tote, crisis heart necklace from eBay, Adidas Originals watch, Sportsgirl sunglasses (and my iPhone.)

On an everyday basis I wear a variation of this look (a different colour crop sweatshirt, a different colour of shorts, a different pair of Nikes…). In winter weather I add a long-sleeve crop underneath and a pair of tights. Sometimes I'd even swap the shorts for a mini kilt or tennis skirt. It's a laid-back look that doesn't look too laid-back (great sentence, I know.)

BE. AGGRESSIVE.

Vintage cheerleading top from eBay, American Apparel tennis skirt, Nike AF1 sneakers.

Happy Halloween :-) This year I channelled Torance Shipman, Angela Hayes and Marley Shelton. We spent the evening at a Day of the Dead Hullabaloo, which consisted of lots of skull painted faces, mexican fighting masks, freakin good chimichangas and bubbling Death Punch. And we may have got all free drinks for the night cos our costumes were so good?? aw yea. Who did you guys go as for Hallow's Eve slash what did you get up to?

Also can I just say - WOAH... I hadn't realised how long it's been since I posted??? Over two months. Insane! I feel like I have a pretty decent excuse though, major projects, I'm developing my own clothing label yada yada yada... Talk to you soon :-)

Panthera

American Apparel tennis skirt, custom cropped white sweater, Nike AF1 sneakers, white tiger backpack, Forever New gold chain, Adidas Originals watch.

So basically this is as close as I can get to becoming the princess Jasmine of Sydney, but I still have hopes to find a nice rich man/woman (anybody willing tbh) to provide me with a real and very alive upgrade... A girl can dream But this beheaded version already gets so many stares and requests from strangers to pet it. And he even gets his own seat at cafes! Pretty much completely spoiled like all my cats.

I don't think I've ever had a bigger project/DIY/post requests/activity/watch list than I do currently. I've already ticked a bunch off and have been feeling super productive (e.g. my custom sweater in this post). By now I've finished at least 4 first seasons of current TV shows, seen a handful of movies, and finished watching playthroughs of a few games (I feel that The Last of Us deserves a mention here, it will be the reason I buy a PS4) plus started playing The Walking Dead myself (and next up Assassin's Creed or Bioshock Infinite). Gonna do all the things ᕦ(◕ヮ◕ )ノAlso stay tuned for my updated makeup tutorial that will be posted on my tumblr this week! Talk to you soon ♡

Denim²

American Apparel denim jacket and shorts, Nike Air Force One sneakers, H&M gold chain necklace, Adidas Originals watch, rings from eBay.

Oh my god Sofie actually made a new outfit post... She must be on a break from school. Seriously though, I've been so excited for this mid-semester break because I still have a TON of things I want to do and new posts and videos I want to make (I feel like theres a backlog). Also lately I've become even more of a hyper-perfectionist about my blog content, in fact for the first time I recently scrapped a post because it wasn't up to my standards. Basically, good things take time. So I like to wait til I have the time to make my content the best it can be. OH but I did start my next video yesterday! I'm really excited about it, hopefully I'll be able to finish it next week and have it uploaded really soon. In other news, The Walking Dead season 3 is over, so now I don't know what to do with my life. BUT a friend recommended me another amazing zombie series In the Flesh, about cured zombies assimilating back into the living world. Defs check that out if you haven't. Not sure I have much else to update you guys with... other than that I've been buying way too many things for myself lately... sob. I hope you are all doing wonderfully, see you soon!

What kind of bird are you?

Nadia t-shirt, vest from Candy in Shibuya, Sretsis unicorn skirt, spiked cap from Romwe, Kreepsville 666 eyeball ring, Tutuanna socks, Nike Air Force One sneakers, Spank! cherub ring, pentagram necklace, tattoo bracelet and tattoo choker from eBay, Barbie head pin self-made.

It's been waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too long! But I've finally emerged from a few hellish weeks of school assessments and I'm now free (for a while). I've come to realise that when I'm not able to update my blog as I do every week, I feel like I'm not completely myself.

If you follow me on instagram you would have seen how I'm totally in love with this new badass spiked cap that arrived for me recently ♡ it's pretty damn heavy too! and the reflective part on the brim doubles nicely as a mirror. and the spikes double nicely as a weapon :-)

On Friday I saw Moonrise Kingdom (finally) and although it's still not one of my favourite Wes Anderson films, I found it really sweet, funny and VERY pretty. I'm also such a huge fan of Wes' use of typography, the opening and ending credits were really amazing! and on Monday I saw a movie called "Bait", which is about a group of people who find themselves trapped along with two great white sharks in a flooded supermarket after a tsunami hits.... ... .....  ......... ... yeah... Probably funniest movie I've seen this month though.
Have you guys seen any good films lately? Any recommendations for ones that are currently in cinemas? :-)

Rib Bones

Topshop sweater, thrifted shorts from Kinji Harajuku, backpack from somewhere on Takeshita Dori in Harajuku, Katie (the store) keyring, Tutuanna socks, Nike Air Force 1 sneakers, Kreepsville 666 bone hair clips, Spank! cherub ring, tattoo choker+bracelet and pentagram necklace from eBay.

After being on a bit of a 90s movie watching rampage over the past month or so I was inspired to buy a couple of new chokers to add to my collection. And after visiting Japan I still have even more mint green to add to my ever-expanding mint collection... I feel like I should do one look featuring every item of minty fresh clothing I own? I just need to dye my hair pale green, or I guess I'll just borrow my friend's mint green wig. Done!

I've found myself watching a ton of My Strange Addition on youtube these holidays. I will be forever amazed at how long a person can stay alive drinking multiple bottles of nail polish day, chugging gasoline like lemonade, or eating various plastics more than regular food?! The most memorable Strange Addiction for me will always be one of the most famous ones; the woman who is eating her husband. Any of you guys watch this show and have any particular addictions that creeped you out the most?

One last thing, Purity Ring have released the surreal and beautiful music video for Fineshrine, one of my most favourite songs off the Shrines album. Personally I found the video suited the song very well, which for me is quite a rare thing indeed.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend

Shrines

Cat print t-shirt by Nadia (Nadia Flores En El Corazon), vintage Levi's denim jacket from SPINN'S Harajuku, shorts by Yaponskii from Monomania, gun print tights by MAM AVANTGARDE, Nike Air Force 1 sneakers, Tutuanna socks, spiked collar by Monomania, skeleton hand hair clip, eyeball bow hair clip and eyeball ring by Kreepsville 666, glitter button, 'I Love You' pin and cherub ring by Spank!, vintage ACID pin, Allira Tee 'Laughter Applause' pins.

That ^ has got to be my record for longest outfit description. But it's my first outfit post since I got back! Because I'm finally done with school for now Lol.

What do you think of my tattoo? It's one of my temporary ones from Nadia, check out the full set below. They're so much fun! It's also a great way of experimenting with the whereabouts of a potential real tattoo.

Last Thursday I went to Lady Gaga's Born This Way Ball! It was SO much fun, and we even got into the Monster Pit because we arrived 4 hours early to line up aw yeah. Having Gaga performing 360° around you is pretty freaking sick. It was also really spacious in the Monster Pit, so we could get super close and were free to move around the space. While this concert was brilliant, it was still not quite as spectacular and high-tech as the Monster Ball concert I attended back in 2010! Did any of you guys go to both concerts and feel the same way?

I was checking my previous blog posts and I realised I totally forgot to mention I also went to Nicki Minaj's concert for the Roman Reloaded tour a few days before I left for Japan! It was even better than I had hoped, the costumes were awesome and the atmosphere was great.

On Sunday I downloaded the new Purity Ring album 'Shrines' (!!!) which I was SO excited about. They're one of those rare groups where every single track they release is amazing. At the moment I'm really loving the feel of "Grandloves" (below). I really like how PR put two words from the lyrics together to form their own made-up words for the track titles, or just create totally new words all together. And I also love how they are always talking about little things, like little ribs and little legs, and body parts like cutting sternums and drilling holes into eyelids. For you PR listeners, which are your favourites from the album?
