Orangeish

I love this colour!

I've been thinking more the DSLR I want to purchase lately (which means it's now been almost seven months of deliberation). Really wanted the Canon 7D, but found it that the body alone costs more than I expected here in Australia. Online, however, it's less... but there are always disadvantages with buying from overseas, particularly to do with the warranty blah blah blah.

If anyone can recommend a good Canon DSLR model that has full HD video, lowest pixel density possible, decent sized sensor and the body alone is no more than $1500, please let me know. Oh yeah, I've now officially given up on Nikon because I only know how to work Canons. I have experience with two Canon models as I've probably mentioned repeatedly, so I'm going with the one I already know how to use. Also, my friend owns a Nikon D90 and her strap broke as she was walking (over grass, thankfully) due to the weight of the camera. Her lens is now badly damaged from the fall and requires new parts. Nikons in general are pretty weighty so for that reason also, I'm probably going to avoid them. But knowing me I'll probably change my mind about that in the next two hours.

Japanese Goodies

I gave my room a huge clean up yesterday, including an entire re-organization of my wardrobe, re-stacking of magazines and a clearing my desk and floor space. Underneath my bed I found a crate filled with a bunch of goodies I purchased in the US back in January, which I still hadn't opened/used/eaten. Above is the first item; miniature japanese foods and kitchen items. On the box it says "Is Dinner Ready?!". And if anyone can translate the japanese text... ^_~

I'd already opened the on on the right in the US the day I purchased it from this store that sells all imported toys, stationary, home wears and lollies from Japan. It's a mini gyoza/dumpling set, which I love because they are one of my favourite foods om nom nom.

Gyoza, anyone?

In the packet containing the two above items, there was this little note.

Again, if anyone can translate the japanese...? I'm very curious as to what it says.

Eek! Now you can see what a terrible polish job I do of my nails.

Second item, orange/mandarin lip balm from EPCOT.

Orange is my favourite flavour of everything, especially lollies... and orange chocolate! :)

Most people I know find this really weird.

Is anyone else out there a fan of orange flavoured things?

Okay, Munny is the one part of this post that is not Japanese. Munny is actually by Kidrobot. But it would have been a little awkward to put "Japanese and one American goody" as the title ^^

I got this one at the MoMA in NYC, along with a blue one and a

white one (which I gave to my brother).

I am a huge fan of Kidrobot designs. They were a big influence in my visual arts major work, (which I'm still in the process of making). A couple of years ago I visited their LA store, which was amazing! I could look at all their little figurines for hours.

Munnys come with a pen (to draw designs on their bodies), a planning sticker,

a name tag and a surprise accessory. I'm too scared to draw on mine in case I ruin them,

so I just leave them blank.

Trailer for Sofia Coppola's new film!

I can't believe I only just found out about Somewhere!

How do you think it looks? I think the storyline is a little cliche perhaps (the big hollywood star being brought back down to earth by his 11-year old daughter), but I'm still looking forward to it's release at the end of this year.

This was the first time I've ever worn red lipstick out and about (and it not being for a costume party). I'm trying to be more daring with everyday makeup. Of course, 'everyday' being weekends and holidays because I can nay wear it to school~

On that note, lately I've been thinking how difficult it is to do outfit posts as I'm at a school with a strict uniform five days a week, so I can't do daily looks. Bloggers at high schools without uniforms are very lucky! Was anyone else blogging or is still blogging at a school with/without uniforms? If so, did you find it restricting?

Do you like the black dress I'm wearing in the last photo? It's a Betsey Johnson skull print dress I picked up in Santa Barbara a few months ago. It has buttons all the way down the centre front and it's quite a thick fabric so perfect for the super-cold winter weather we've had. I find it's tricky to find long sleeved dresses that actually keep you warm without being overly hot, thick sweater dresses.

The skulls kind of remind me of something mexican.

I just remembered - I wore this dress last New Years Eve! Looking back on these photos makes me miss being in the US.

I threw in the following photos simply because the Madonna Inn has the most incredible bathrooms...

This was back when I was borrowing the Canon 400D from my school library. (Now borrowing their 1000D).

Only two weeks left of school until the three 3 week break! I'm going to do my best to put in the hard yard with my school work so I have more time for photo shoots in the holidays.

Photoshop Practice

Just posted this photo on my Tumblr. These are my sister's eyes - just practiced some Photoshopping as I'll be doing a lot of it for my Major Design Project. Yeah, I know it's a little overdramatic and not 100% natural looking, ha ha :) What do you think?

Right now I'm in a schoolwork heavy weekend, but I'll do my best to have my proper post up ASAP :)
