I love this colour!
I've been thinking more the DSLR I want to purchase lately (which means it's now been almost seven months of deliberation). Really wanted the Canon 7D, but found it that the body alone costs more than I expected here in Australia. Online, however, it's less... but there are always disadvantages with buying from overseas, particularly to do with the warranty blah blah blah.
If anyone can recommend a good Canon DSLR model that has full HD video, lowest pixel density possible, decent sized sensor and the body alone is no more than $1500, please let me know. Oh yeah, I've now officially given up on Nikon because I only know how to work Canons. I have experience with two Canon models as I've probably mentioned repeatedly, so I'm going with the one I already know how to use. Also, my friend owns a Nikon D90 and her strap broke as she was walking (over grass, thankfully) due to the weight of the camera. Her lens is now badly damaged from the fall and requires new parts. Nikons in general are pretty weighty so for that reason also, I'm probably going to avoid them. But knowing me I'll probably change my mind about that in the next two hours.

ReplyDeleteI would definitely go for a Canon. You could try the Canon EOS 450D as a starting camera. I'm not quite sure how much it costs. But if you are willing to spend $1500 then maybe you could upgrade to a better lens but keep the 450D body?

Your hair/bow combination made my heart skip a beat. And that colour!! Its reminds me of strawberries on a winter morning. Or perhaps a polaroid sunset. Either way, i love it. Deliciously vibrant!

regarding camera, what about nikon D90??or you prefer canon?? just to let you know that canon's body is much much heavier than nikon's~good luck with DSLR hunting~!!!!

You're probably a real camera veteran, in which case you'd either know/discount this suggestion - but would you ever consider a bridge camera? I've got an ordinary snapshot = crap, but my boyf couldn't afford a DSLR and found a bridge - info here :

I too am planning on investing in a new camera and the whole Canon vs. Nikon debate is just too much for me inexperienced self to handle... I don't know which to choose! I tried to research a bit online and was pretty set on Nikon but now... idk. Going to read through the previous comments and see what I can scrounge up.

The cheapest Canon with HD is the 550D (UK) or T2i (US), it is $1000, 18.1 megapixels. It's just as good as the 7D! I'm getting it in August, yay! :) I say the 550D is good for girls, because it's light, unlike the 7D which is super heavy especially with the default lens.

I'm so sad about Federer, but it's okay... he has won six times, which is a pretty amazing achievement. I just hope he doesn't feel too bad about losing in the quarterfinals! Ahhh at least we have the US Open in August/September :)

i've played with my fd's Canon 40D and it's like twice the wieght of my Nikon D80. i'm not sure whether does this apply on higher level like the 7D you want to get, but that's my experience~
besides, the lenses for Nikon is much cheaper than Canon, so if you're considering buying multiple lenses, you can always have a think about Nikon~
